We left an industry built on watching people. This is the studio we wanted to work at instead.
We don't sell attention. We never have, and the studio is built so we can't start.
If we can read your data, we consider that a bug.
Software should feel like a quiet room, not a crowded street.
Slow is fine. We'd rather ship a thing once, well, than ten times, anxiously.
How we got here
Verdant began in 2019 with two people and one stubborn opinion: that software could earn a living without selling the person using it. Most of us came from companies whose entire business was knowing too much about you.
So we work small. The studio sits between Kyoto · Lisbon, nine people at most, and we'd rather stay that size than grow into something we'd have to apologise for. We take on a few projects a year and finish them.
The Japanese garden is our standing reference. Composed, unhurried, alive underneath — nothing extra, everything placed on purpose. When a decision is hard, we ask whether it would belong in one.
